THE GOODS BLOG: Supplemental

I'm trying to get this quick message out to you guys to fill you in on our house-buying endeavours! Many of you have been asking about it!

So we were in Montreal over the weekend, and on Saturday we went and viewed 10 properties. Unfortunately my "favourite" one that I had sent the link to a while back has since sold. But the majority of the places that we had lined up to go look at were quite similar to that one that I liked.

It was pretty easy to rank all of the properties that we saw in the order of how much we liked them, and then really easy to see what was at the top of our list by the end of the day.

Personally, I have no desire to dance around the whole concept of buying, and just want to make a decision and lock something down.

At the end of our house-hunting day, Tim and I both agreed that our favourite was THIS PLACE. It's located in exactly the very urban neighbourhood that we wanted (Mile End in Le Plateau-Mont-Royal), the place has 3 bedrooms which is ideal, the vibe of the place is totally eclectic and bohemian, and it's OLD! 103 years old! My favourite! It also has a WALK SCORE of 97, which is really important to us.

So on Sunday we put an offer on it. We are waiting to hear back. Our realtor warned us to expect a counter-offer. But even the asking price is within our budget, so it seems like we should end up in a good situation either way.

So that's how Montreal went! I'll let you guys know if we get the place or not!

In other news, I officially sold my car. It's gone now to it's new home. So it's nice to have that off of our plate, and even nicer to have the money from selling it! Mamma wants a Mediterranean cruise!
