That's a wrap on February! As predicted, it was a bit of a quieter month which I totally appreciated. Is it spring yet?? I would be quite happy to be finished with winter (although I do want to get a snowboarding day under my belt first). You can usually find me around town doing stuff like this...

Valentine's Day was a cute day. We took our annual family acro yoga photo and then Tim and I went out for a nice dinner at Rge Rd. They were doing a special Valentine's blind multi-course tasting menu and we loved it. Date nights are the best!

Then, as a belated birthday present, I got a piercing done that I've been wanting to have done for a long, long time. I swear, I've been talking about wanting to get it done for like 20 years and I just never have. It's an ear piercing called the rook. I was a bit nervous that it would be painful to get done but it barely hurt at all! I'm so happy that I finally did it!! (As you can see, I already have many other ear piercings... That's what happens when you work with Lacey at Reflexions as teenagers and have access to a piercing gun...) I think that I maybe have all of the tattoos and piercings that I want now... I'm done!

Tim and I finally did also go out for my belated birthday dinner as well. We went to a restaurant called Tryst Wine & Small Plates which won the award for Best New Restaurant last year. So I'd been wanting to try it! The food was wonderful and we had such a great time. Two date nights in one week!!

There were also various friend hangs this month, which are always the absolute BEST. <3

It was a good month. It wasn't too crazy but still had some really great parts to it. I feel more settled and balanced than I have for a while and it feels good. My word of the year for 2023 is HARMONY and I think that I might be achieving it so far.

Life with Archie: Archie has gotten really into music lately. He likes to talk about his favourite songs (there are so many) and he says that he wants to be the lead singer in a band. I like this kid's aspirations. His current favourite song is 'Don't Miss' by The Blue Stones. Archie's Beavers colony had their Investiture Ceremony, which means that Archie is now an official Beaver. He is really enjoying Beavers a lot!

As a birthday present, we bought Archie a small 3 gallon aquarium for his bedroom. We finally got around to setting it all up and put some fish in it. It's Archie's responsibility to feed the fish each morning and he loves it.

Archie's weekly Mites Snowboarding lessons have started at Snow Valley and he's doing well! We bought him all of his own equipment (no more rentals!) and he seems to be picking up from where he left off last year. He's not on the smallest hill anymore, which is awesome!

On Valentine's Day Archie went to school dressed in the appropriate colours and of course also brought the correct snack with him.

School has been going great and Archie is learning so much. I'm always so impressed by how much French he already knows. His class did a field trip to a gymnastics gym and it was Pink Shirt Day. There was also a Celebration of Learning night where we got to go into Archie's class and he was able to show us all of the things that he has learned.

And finally, Archie went to Beavers Winter Camp! This was an overnight camp (two nights) on a weekend and he stayed in a cabin. It was an hour away in Evansburg. Tim went along as well, especially since Archie has never done anything like this before. Archie had a total blast! His bestie at Beavers is a kid named Everett and the two of them had so much fun together.

And now it's March! This month should be another fairly chill one, although unexpected things do tend to pop up. Susan is going to be in Edmonton this month and I'm really looking forward to seeing her! At the end of March we're going to be going to Jasper for two nights so that we can snowboard before the season is over. We're really looking forward to it! We dream of hitting the slopes! Archie will have completed his Snow Valley lessons by that point and we're putting him in a Marmot All Day Kids Camp in Jasper which also includes snowboarding lessons. It'll be so great to get back out there! Spring Break is also at the end of the month but we don't have any big plans for it. Looking forward to coming out of hibernation and for spring to start being springy!! THIS MONTH’S SHOUT-OUTS!: March 7th is Susan Murphy’s 41st birthday!

I'm really looking forward to updating this photo!!! Can you believe that the last time we saw each other was in Vancouver?! It's funny because I feel like I see you and talk to you every day. I love it. It's so wonderful to have you as such a regular part of my life. I hope that your birthday is fabulous and that you get spoiled! And I wish for you to have some relaxing kid-free time too!! Love you always. <3 March 12th is Kristen Smith’s 39th birthday!

You're another person who I haven't seen in far too long and it makes me sad! I'm still super bummed that our hang out plans were ruined by Covid last year. Wahhh! Please come to visit Edmonton soon and have brunch with me at Tiramisu Bistro already. It's the last year of your 30s!! I'm wishing you the most majestic of birthdays, my friend. Love you! <3
