THE GOODS BLOG: Erika's Precious Little Life - November Edition

Oh hello ladies! Time for some more of my monthly ramblings. I hope that you're all ready to kick some November ass.
The countdown is on, and I am now at 7 WEEKS left in Edmonton... Which is quite shocking.
We spent Thanksgiving in Regina, which was so much fun! We had family dinner to celebrate Tim's birthday...
The wonderful Carrie came over for hangouts...
We had a great brunch with high school friends - it's always so amazing to see everyone! Especially those of you that I get to see so seldomly!
I was very excited to get to meet baby Lucas (Sarah's baby) who was only a month old at the time. He's so adorable.
And of course there was Thanksgiving where Tim made the entire meal for the family! He just enjoys doing that kind of stuff. It was delicious! (Not gonna lie, big reason why I married him.) ;)
We celebrated Rachelle's birthday at a new restaurant that we all love called RGE RD...
And then it was Tim's birthday! He turned 30, which is a big deal! When I turned 30 Tim took me to Jamaica... So since I wasn't going to take him on some wonderful vacation, I wanted to spoil him nonetheless.
I drove him to a restaurant called The Bothy which specializes in scotch, which is something that Tim really enjoys. I then ordered him the $80 "Connoiseurs Choice" Scotch Whisky Flight Programme, so that he could try some of the best/oldest scotch that he has ever had! He loved that. And then of course we also had an entire dinner as well.
I also bought him a leather jacket from Danier and a 128GB iPad. He was so excited about everything.
Ever since I first moved to Edmonton, I've been reading a weekly column called Savage Love. It's a sex column written by a guy named Dan Savage who lives in Seattle, and he is amazing. So I was really pumped when I found out that he was coming to speak in Edmonton and promote his new book! It was another nice "Edmonton thing" of mine that came to fruition at just the right time.
...And then it was off to Banff again! I found out pretty last minute that Hedley was going to be playing a show there, so Rachelle and I hopped in the car and went! It was very much like old times, and I was so glad that we got to share something like this together one last time before I move.
It was a really weird outdoor show called the "quietest concert ever" where we were given headphones and the entire audio for the concert could only be heard in the headphones. So it was a neat experience! It was also my 31st Hedley show! I definitely still feel something exciting in my lady bits when I see Jacob Hoggard... ;)
I'm very excited that my wedding dress has returned from the cleaners! After the wedding day, the dress was FULL of leaves and sticks and dirt and dead bugs... It was really gross. Every layer was full of crap. So having it cleaned was absolutely necessary. Now I can prance around in it again! And prance I shall...
Halloween happened, and we didn't go to any parties or anything, but every year my work puts on the Halloweenie Roast, where from 6-9am in the morning, you can come to our parking lot and get free hot dogs and pop and candy. I've been coming to it since before I even worked here, so I definitely have a special place in my heart for breakfast hot dogs, especially since this was my last one. :(
In bigger news, we bought a new car! We decided that in Montreal we will no longer need two cars, as Tim will be using the metro to get to/from work. We wanted a vehicle upgrade to something that would suit our outdoorsy lifestyle better, and also something more luxurious being that we're older now. And of course buying in Alberta made the most sense since our tax is only 5%. We decided that we wanted an SUV, and after going to see A LOT of them (ugh, dealerships) we chose the 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan! We traded in Tim's car for it, and we're going to sell my car privately. The new car is really nice! It's automatic, leather interior, panoramic sunroof that opens all the way to the back seat, touch screen display. Definitely feels more fancy than anything I've had before.
Also, just in case you haven't seen it and want to, I posted a video of our entire wedding ceremony. It was my favourite part of the day, so it's nice to be able to see it. Especially since it was such a whirlwind for me at the time!!
Next weekend we're off to Montreal to *ideally* buy a house! BioWare is paying for our flights, hotel (Fairmont Queen Elizabeth), rental car, and I think even food. So that sure makes things super easy! I'm looking forward to reporting on how that all goes... And just visiting our new city in general with the knowledge that we're about to move there is going to be pretty crazy too. Of course the main thing on my mind is: Where to eat!
Otherwise, it's a pretty quiet month, but right at the end is also my favourite bi-annual Royal Bison Craft & Art Fair.
AND we're going to spend a night in the Fantasyland Hotel in a theme room, because we've only stayed there once before (together) right when we first started dating. So that'll be fun! (More "stuff we've gotta do before we move away.")

Wishing you such a wonderful birthday Erin, and that Dustyn spoils you a ton! I hope that Calgary treats you well for your birthday too. :) I really am thankful for the wonderful role that you've played in making me who I am today. You were there for a big turning point in my life, and I could never forget the significance of that and everything that you mean to me. You're a beautiful person inside and out! LOVE YOU!
November 10th is Sarah Swalm's 31st birthday!
Your first birthday as a Mom! I'm sure that Adam and Lucas will have something special planned for you. ;) You've always been such a wonderful friend to me, and no matter what I'll always think of you as someone very special in my life who I love very much. And I'm still totally serious about meeting up with you in Ottawa!
November 20th is Carrie Schill's 25th birthday!
People don't come much more wonderful as you are Carrie! You'll be my little sister till the end of time! You deserve the most incredible birthday because you are such a kind and generous person. You inspire me all of the time, and you're always up for anything. You've taught me so much and I love you so much!! I can't thank you enough for the wonderful friend that you have been. You're always there for me in every way.
