THE GOODS BLOG: Erika's Precious Little Life - May Edition

This entry is late because my computer was “in the shop!” All of the USB ports stopped working so I had to get it fixed. My life spiraled out of control without a computer for most of this week!!
April was supposed to be a pretty quiet month, but it ended up a bit busy and stressful with the news of us moving and beginning to get all of those various balls rolling. Like putting our house up for sale. I still do not have my head wrapped around this.
We’ve had a few beautiful spring days so far, but mostly it has been grey and rainy... So I’m all set for Vancouver, ha ha. Montreal patio season is quite spectacular though (or as they call them here “terrasses”).
For Easter we went to the Fairmont Le Château Montebello for a buffet brunch and that was a really nice time.
Laura was 37 weeks pregnant at the time of these photos! So now she’s due any day!! She didn’t want me to post the below photo, so I didn’t (hopefully she doesn’t mind me putting it here in the private blog). And besides, she looks wonderful!!!
After brunch we drove to Enobong’s house, since we were already sort of in the neighbourhood. I hadn’t met Amos yet, so I was excited to meet him and also for Enobong to meet Archie! ♥
We had the Easter Bunny come the following day on Easter Monday. It was fun to do an Easter egg hunt with Archie even if he had no idea what was going on!
The Montreal Canadiens were only in the playoffs for one round, so we got Archie involved while we could. Also, I don’t care about sports. Tim barely does either. Ha ha.
My yoga studio had a special event where they brought in two celebrity yogis (from New York) to teach a workshop class and I was very excited to attend! Their names are Rodney Yee and Colleen Saidman Yee. I have Colleen’s book, so it was great to have her sign it!
And we ordered Archie’s first passport! We don’t have any immediate international travel plans for him in mind, but things tend to sometimes come up quickly for us so I wanted him to be prepared. I hope that next winter we can maybe go to the Caribbean and do an all-inclusive.
And finally, we’ve listed our home! You can check out the listing here. This was so much work because we had to make our place photo-ready and it was very much NONE of that. Our real estate agent had a professional photographer come to take the photos. We’ll probably share the listing on our Facebooks and just say that we’re looking for a bigger place to live. (Which isn’t a lie. We’re just not going to mention the Vancouver part yet.)
We have a real estate agent in Vancouver now as well who is looking for places for us. We’ve also decided not to take the possibility of renting off of the table. We want to see what we can get for buying and renting and then make a decision based on what will be best for us.
Life with Archie:
Archie turned THREE MONTHS old!
His interests include: Babbling all the time, starting to discover toys, and drooling all over the place.
As of his most recent weigh-in, he is now at 13lbs.
Things have been pretty easy-going with him! He has now dropped his middle-of-the-night feeding, which is glorious. His last meal of the night is at 9pm and then he falls asleep right after it and stays asleep for roughly eight hours! So that has been wonderful and I feel much more rested again. I also have a pumped breastmilk stash of over SIX litres now!!! (That’s like three big pop bottles full... Gross.) I almost don’t know where to put it all! So it’s safe to say that pumping has been a big success.
Archie has now mastered rolling over (from front to back) and can do it all the time and understands what he’s doing. It’s so neat to see him learning. He has also started laughing a real laugh, which is probably the best thing so far.
We also finally got back his newborn photography. I’d almost already forgotten that he was once so tiny and squashy.
May is back to being a crazy month of crazy!
I responded to a model call for a professional photographer who needed to take images of breastfeeding moms for a photography art display in a local boutique. The idea of the project is to help normalize breastfeeding. So I went to her studio on Tuesday and did the shoot! I think that the images should be really beautiful. After how difficult and awful breastfeeding was in the beginning, I’m really happy that I’ll have nice “success” photos.
This weekend we’re off to Muskoka again! This time everyone really will be there. So we’ll be at maximum babies for the first time!
I’m kinda excited to celebrate my first legit Mother’s Day - a whole new holiday for me!
And then on the 19th I’m off to Las Vegas!!! I’m going on a girl trip to celebrate Sarah’s Bachelorette Party! It’s going to be me, Sarah, Nadine, Sarah’s sister Katie, and one other girl who I haven’t met before. I’ll be gone for four nights so all of that pumped breastmilk is going to come into play! We’re staying at Treasure Island and we have tickets to see Britney: Piece of Me, Britney Spears’ show. I’m excited to just be free and having fun!!

May 27th is Krystie Coutu’s 31st birthday!
Can you believe that for the first time ever we’re going to be living in the same place?!?! (Practically.) I am SO excited!!! I hope that your birthday is fabulous and of course that Trevor spoils you a bunch! ♥
May 28th is Heather Petrychyn’s 6th wedding anniversary!
This was such a great time in Regina! I hope that you and Curtis get to share some special celebration time! ♥
May 31st is Susan Murphy’s 4th wedding anniversary!
I hope that you and Matt drink a lot of wine and have some romance! I loved this day in Edmonton! ♥
