THE GOODS BLOG: Erika's Precious Little Life - December Edition

***You can skip though this entire entry if you want to, but at least read the last paragraph.***

Yes, this blog is 4 days late. I've been just a little bit preoccupied!

I'm now at 3 WEEKS left in Edmonton. It's getting frightening. I usually write my monthly blogs at work... And this will be the last one written here. :( I'm super relieved that I don't actually have to DO anything in order to move, because there's already enough going on! (Piling moving across the country with buying a house and with Christmas... Turns out to be a lot, I guess...)

Did I say that November was going to be "quiet?" Because that was all lies.

Hedley's new album was released, so Jake and Dave came into my work as a part of their initial media promo circuit. This is always good news for me. ;) Jake came in the front door, leapt OVER my desk, and into my open arms into a hug. And then I said "let's just stay like this all day" and he said okay. It's pretty crazy that the whole "me and Hedley" thing began almost 10 years ago now. They did an interview at my work, and my co-workers had me ask them a question. I will DEFINITELY miss the perks of my job. :( :( :(

That same night, we flew off to Montreal! As you all know, the trip went successfully and we bought a house! We didn't have very much time to see or do anything else while we were there, but I did manage to show Tim a few things.

I was SHOCKED to see this sign up there!! To translate: Don't touch me. Don't feed me. I'm a carrier of disease.

Every year when the Toronto Santa Claus Parade airs (can you tell that we're a couple of Ontario kids?) we put up our Christmas tree. So that officially made Christmas real, and it totally snuck up on me.

The Core Four went and saw Catching Fire on opening night at the VIP theatre. We all LOVED it!

Also, a Baby Shower was thrown for Amy and baby Rhett!

We went and saw American Idiot the musical, which was excellent.

We attended the fabulous Royal Bison Art & Craft Fair and ran into Edmonton's new mayor there! He was only elected a few weeks ago (we voted for him) and he's only 34! He's great. Everyone loves him.

As I've mentioned before, we have a "to-do list" of things that we want to see/do/experience before leaving Edmonton. Some are things that we'd always meant to do, others are things that we'd been meaning to do again. West Edmonton Mall was included in this list because we'd never been into the Sea Life Caverns, we wanted to do the waterpark once more, and of course we wanted to stay in Fantasyland again! We picked the Roman room because it's pretty much the best one.

If you don't make bed sheet togas in the Roman room, you're doing it wrong.

We also went to go see Basia Bulat play. She's a talented musician (from Toronto) that Tim really likes. Also, Tim's high school friend Ian is touring with her as her drummer, so it was great to see him too!

BAM! That was a month!

The next few weeks of December are mostly going to involve us making sure that we're ready to move, since there will be NO time to do so after Christmas.

Susan and I are going to have our final E+S Night. :(

The Core Four is going to have our annual Christmas party dinner - one of my very favourite nights of the year!

We're going to go see Meaghan Smith play her Christmas show (for the 3rd year in a row).

And then my last day of work is on December 19th. :(

The next day is BioWare's huge gala Christmas party, and I've conveniently got the whole day off (due to unemployment) to ready myself! The theme this year is "Mad Hatter Mayhem," and I will surely take millions of pics! ALSO... I've been trying to convince Tim that we should have sex in his office (after hours, of course) and I'm pretty sure that it's gonna happen after/during this party, since it'll be our last opportunity. Plus I'll have the advantage of Tim's better judgement being off because of the open bar. HA HA HA!!!!! (And YES, I am the instigator of such things, NOT the other way around...)

Then the day after that (the 21st), we fly off to London, Ontario! We'll be out there for 6 days, over actual Christmas. We fly to Regina on the 27th for another 6 days and will be there over New Years. Of course my family will be holding "Christmas" while we're there too. I have to say, I LOVE double Christmas! Instead of it being all finished after one, there's a whole second one! It really extends the holidays a lot and I love it. I want to see all of you Regina peeps who will be around!!! We usually hold the annual friend dinner on the 23rd, so I will be missing that. But I'll get in touch about a date/time when I'll be free for some hangouts because I would absolutely love to see you if you have some time. :)

As always, I am wishing all of you, my lady loves, the very BEST holiday season. I can't begin to tell you how much every single one of you means to me. You've all been by my side. For those of you who came all the way out to Jasper this summer to be at our wedding, you have to know how eternally grateful I am. I couldn't have done it without you girls there, I just couldn't have. It meant more to me than words can say. You all inspire me and amaze me every day. You're all grabbing life and making it into everything that you'd ever wanted it to be. You all push me forward. You all push me to be the very best version of myself. I thank each of you so much for being a part of me and a part of my journey.
