Eat Every Roll at The Eatery: Day 14

My personal favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver is The Eatery in Kitsilano. (You'll find it featured in the Worldwide Faves section of this blog!) I like it because it's super unique, an amazingly fun atmosphere, casual, not too expensive, located in my neighbourhood... And most of all because the sushi is funky, innovative and exciting! It's a sushi party every time and you're invited!!

The best thing on the menu is their rolls. They offer sixty nine different rolls to choose from!!! Each one is very interesting and far from your average roll. Recently, it occurred to me what I must do. I must try every single one of their funky sushi rolls. I am going to visit The Eatery once a week (Sushi Sunday!), order four rolls each time, and keep doing so until I have tried them all. My husband is going to help with this project in order to provide a second opinion. Sushi Sunday: Day 14

Tex Mex ~ Qué pasa? California roll, splashed with a creamy salsa mix of tomatoes, avocado, roe and salmon. The salsa is super interesting and fresh. I liked the pile of salmon and avocado in the middle. Erika: 4/5 ~ Tim: 4/5 ~ AVERAGE: 4/5 The Ogo Pogo ~ Tempura yams, mangoes, topped with avocado and wakame. The sweetness from the mango was really nice and I liked the wakame on top. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3/5 Tuna Turner ~ Tuna tempura, cucumber and avocado topped with spicy tuna and bonito. I liked the use of bonito. Could use a bit more something-something. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3/5 Tuna Crunch ~ Simple but effective! Tuna, tempura bits, mayo. A little bland for my taste but mayo and crunch is always good. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 3.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.25/5 Keep following along to find out which rolls will end up in our sushi hall of fame!
