Eat Every Roll at The Eatery: Day 11
My personal favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver is The Eatery in Kitsilano. (You'll find it featured in the Worldwide Faves section of this blog!) I like it because it's super unique, an amazingly fun atmosphere, casual, not too expensive, located in my neighbourhood... And most of all because the sushi is funky, innovative and exciting! It's a sushi party every time and you're invited!!
The best thing on the menu is their rolls. They offer sixty nine different rolls to choose from!!! Each one is very interesting and far from your average roll. Recently, it occurred to me what I must do. I must try every single one of their funky sushi rolls. I am going to visit The Eatery once a week (Sushi Sunday!), order four rolls each time, and keep doing so until I have tried them all. My husband is going to help with this project in order to provide a second opinion. Sushi Sunday: Day 11
Mango Paradise ~ Avocado, cucumber, mango, and inari. The sweet and fruity mango makes this roll really nice. Erika: 3.5/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.25/5 Roe Money Roe Probrem ~ Crab meat, salmon, cucumber, roe, jalapeño. First of all: best name ever. I liked the spicy hit from the jalapeño. But otherwise wasn't too interesting. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3/5 The Red Sanja ~ Spicy tuna crunch topped with tempura salmon and avocado. Really good! Enjoyed the tempura crunch and the sesame seeds. Erika: 4/5 ~ Tim: 3.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.75/5 Rainbow Roll ~ Discover the pot of gold. Tuna, salmon, ebi over crab and cucumber. The heaps of crab was delicious. This one is fresh and classic. Erika: 4/5 ~ Tim: 4.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 4.25/5 Keep following along to find out which rolls will end up in our sushi hall of fame!
