Eat Every Roll at The Eatery: Day 7

My personal favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver is The Eatery in Kitsilano. (You'll find it featured in the Worldwide Faves section of this blog!) I like it because it's super unique, an amazingly fun atmosphere, casual, not too expensive, located in my neighbourhood... And most of all because the sushi is funky, innovative and exciting! It's a sushi party every time and you're invited!!

The best thing on the menu is their rolls. They offer sixty nine different rolls to choose from!!! Each one is very interesting and far from your average roll. Recently, it occurred to me what I must do. I must try every single one of their funky sushi rolls. I am going to visit The Eatery once a week (Sushi Sunday!), order four rolls each time, and keep doing so until I have tried them all. My husband is going to help with this project in order to provide a second opinion. Sushi Sunday: Day 7 (We hit all of the GREEN rolls this time!)

Cucumber Wrap ~ Yam tempura, lettuce, inari, carrots, red pepper, avocado, dragon sauce. Too much like salad! But very fresh. Erika: 2/5 ~ Tim: 2/5 ~ AVERAGE: 2/5 Green Hornet ~ Kato kicks butt. Tempura prawns, avocado, mango. I liked the things going on here and the mango was nice. Erika: 3.5/5 ~ Tim: 3.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.5/5 Green Eggs & Ham ~ Bacon and tamago, topped with avocado. Really fun! The bacon and eggs is so interesting in sushi! This tasted exactly how you would want it to. Erika: 3.5/5 ~ Tim: 5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 4.25/5 Godzilla ~ Invades The Eatery IV. Crab crunch topped off with avocado and eel. I liked that it's a bit warm and the crabby crunch was good. Erika: 3.5/5 ~ Tim: 4/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.75/5 Keep following along to find out which rolls will end up in our sushi hall of fame!
