Eat Every Roll at The Eatery: Day 6
My personal favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver is The Eatery in Kitsilano. (You'll find it featured in the Worldwide Faves section of this blog!) I like it because it's super unique, an amazingly fun atmosphere, casual, not too expensive, located in my neighbourhood... And most of all because the sushi is funky, innovative and exciting! It's a sushi party every time and you're invited!!
The best thing on the menu is their rolls. They offer sixty nine different rolls to choose from!!! Each one is very interesting and far from your average roll. Recently, it occurred to me what I must do. I must try every single one of their funky sushi rolls. I am going to visit The Eatery once a week (Sushi Sunday!), order four rolls each time, and keep doing so until I have tried them all. My husband is going to help with this project in order to provide a second opinion. Sushi Sunday: Day 6
Erotica Roll ~ Seductive! Avocado, salmon, tuna with roe & mayo over crab and cucumber. Nice representation of a bunch of fish. Tasty! Erika: 4/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.5/5 Coconut Surprise ~ Asparagus, cucumber, yam, with avocado and coconut. A bit bland with not much going on. Erika: 2/5 ~ Tim: 2/5 ~ AVERAGE: 2/5 Fantasy Roll ~ Tempura prawns, avocado, cream cheese & mango wrapped in soybean sheet. Interesting and different! Great creaminess and crunch. Loved the soybean wrapper. Erika: 4/5 ~ Tim: 4.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 4.25/5 Found Nemo ~ Tempura crab, avocado, asparagus, wrapped with seared salmon. Big time crunch. A bit too much going on. But I was intrigued that this seems to be made with real crab. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3/5 Keep following along to find out which rolls will end up in our sushi hall of fame!
