Eat Every Roll at The Eatery: Day 1

My personal favourite sushi restaurant in Vancouver is The Eatery in Kitsilano. (You'll find it featured in the Worldwide Faves section of this blog!) I like it because it's super unique, an amazingly fun atmosphere, casual, not too expensive, located in my neighbourhood... And most of all because the sushi is funky, innovative and exciting! It's a sushi party every time and you're invited!!

The best thing on the menu is their rolls. They offer sixty nine different rolls to choose from!!! Each one is very interesting and far from your average roll. Recently, it occurred to me what I must do. I must try every single one of their funky sushi rolls. I am going to visit The Eatery once a week (Sushi Sunday!), order four rolls each time, and keep doing so until I have tried them all. My husband is going to help with this project in order to provide a second opinion. Sushi Sunday: Day 1

Aloha ~ Don Ho was here. Albacore, cucumber, jalapeno and spicy tuna. Good crunch, nice heat, but not enough flavour. Erika: 2/5 ~ Tim: 4/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3/5 Bagel Roll ~ Cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, green onion, cucumber, avocado. Loved the smoked salmon, creaminess of the cream cheese, and tomato in sushi is so interesting! Erika: 4/5 ~ Tim: 3/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.5/5 Andy Warhol ~ Sushi artistry! Mango, tuna, salmon. I liked the mango but the rest was a bit boring. Erika: 2/5 ~ Tim: 2.5/5 ~ AVERAGE: 2.25/5 Avocado Crunch ~ Avocado tempura style, with cream cheese. Loved the crunch and the creaminess. Erika: 3/5 ~ Tim: 4/5 ~ AVERAGE: 3.5/5 Keep following along to find out which rolls will end up in our sushi hall of fame!
