2013 Thoughts, resolutions, re-caps, bests...
It's January 1st and time for my annual blog of thoughts regarding the end of 2013 and the beginning of 2014!
To kick things off, here are, in my opinion, THE *BESTS* OF 2013:

Honourable mentions (in order of release) go to:

The Wolf of Wall Street (Released: December 25, 2013)
BEST (new to me) EDMONTON RESTAURANT THAT I TRIED: The Common
(Casual Modern Canadian - 9910 109th Street)
Honourable mentions (in alphabetical order) go to:
Canteen (Modern Canadian - 10522 124th Street)
Corso 32 (Italian - 10345 Jasper Avenue)
King Noodle House (Pho - 10615 97th Street)
Rge Rd (Canadian - 10643 123rd Street)
Woodwork (Canadian Smokehouse - 10132 100th Street)
I hope that if you give any of my picks a try that you'll love them as much as I do!!
IN 2013 I TRAVELED TO THESE PLACES:
Muskoka, Ontario
Jasper, Alberta X 2
Grande Prairie, Alberta
Moorea, French Polynesia
Bora Bora, French Polynesia
Taha'a, French Polynesia
Los Angeles, California, USA
Drumheller, Alberta
London, Ontario X 2
Banff, Alberta X 2
Regina, Saskatchewan X 2
It's a no-brainer that our honeymoon to Bora Bora was the best place that we traveled to this year - more like a lifelong dream come true.
IN 2013 I SAW THESE BANDS PLAY LIVE:
Imagine Dragons X 3
Dallas Smith
Stars
MGMT
Mumford & Sons
Alabama Shakes
M. Ward
Hedley
Basia Bulat
Meaghan Smith
It's difficult for me to pick anything else when Hedley is in the mix, and although I've seen them a million times, this time was a whole new experience because we listened to the whole concert in headphones. In the mountains. It was very memorable!
WEDDINGS THAT WE ATTENDED IN 2013:
FRIENDS WHO HAD BABIES IN 2013:
And of course... RESOLUTIONS... First let's see how I did with my 2013 resolutions:
~ First and foremost: PLAN AN EPIC, UNIQUE, AND TOTALLY US WEDDING!!! (And try not to get completely stressed out while doing so.)
~ Become the most incredible wife that the world has ever seen. ;)
~ Save money. Not only for the wedding, but for some big travel. I'm serious this time.
~ Continue my aerial arts journey!
~ Read Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. I started reading it in grade 4... But never made it through the first chapter...
~ Try at least 20 new-to-me Edmonton restaurants this year. Review them.
I can say that I feel that I accomplished almost all of these! The wedding turned out exactly as I had hoped (although I'm not sure that I can say that stress was avoided), and I really did read Gone With the Wind and tried plenty of new restaurants. Unfortunately I did not get to continue my aerial arts journey, but that just means I must try harder to get to it!
So this leads us to...
2014 RESOLUTIONS:
~ As I move to the 4th city that I've lived in, be strong and stay aware of who I am and where I've come from.
~ Turn our first home into a glorious haven that represents who we are.
~ Start my own food blog and take it very seriously.
~ Get more involved than ever in yoga and aerial arts. By doing this, get WAY back into shape.
~ Volunteer in wildlife rehab.
~ Leave the country at least once.
~ ABR: Always be Reading. Read at least one chapter a day, and start a new book as soon as I finish the last one.
I'm wishing everyone a wonderful 2014! Don't dream it, be it!
